Be sure to check out the Federal Government’s apprenticeship grant information to see how you can benefit from this program. (check “Useful Links for Apprentices”)

Remember to keep your work records up to date and get them signed by your foreman or shop steward. Failure to keep the hall up to date on your hours may result in a loss of income through missed advances and inaccurate crediting of hours for completion of the apprenticeship. It is the apprentices’ responsibility to keep them up to date. Its your future, so please stay sharp.

There is an apprenticeship bursary of $400 that is payable on completion of each year of school, provided the apprentice has attended 4 union meetings in the past year. Union meetings are the second tuesday of every month at 7pm, downstairs at the Nelson Labour Hall. See you there.

If you have any questions at all about your apprenticeship please talk your shop steward, use the contact page of this site or call the Hall.
