Join us at the Cube Climbing Centre in Nelson for a Burger BBQ & Mingler with MLA Brittny Anderson and BCs Minister of Jobs, Economic Development & Innovation Brenda Bailey. Doors open at 10:00 am for a private climbing session, including gear rental and instruction for brand-new beginners courtesy of the Cube Staff. At 11:00, the Kootenay Climbing Association will present its vision and design for the new Kootenay Climbing & Community Centre—aka the Cube 2.0—and then lead walks to the nearby parcel of land granted by the City of Nelson for the new facility. In the meantime, we’ll fire up the grills on the Cube’s sunny back deck overlooking the West Arm of Kootenay Lake for a noontime barbeque.
